Well, we went up to mom’s again this year for Christmas…and following the pattern of the last 2 months, it was plagued with illness!! We can’t seem to get over the sick hurdle…William got his first MMR shot last Wednesday and had a bad reaction the following day. He had a fever on thursday and Friday and then it spiked to 104.2 on Friday night. The poor little guy was absolutely miserable. We got his temp down a few degrees and were able to finally get him to sleep and it seemed like all was well, but he spiked another 104 fever the following night. Once again we gave him some medicine, got his temp down and put him to bed and the next morning he seemed to be out of the woods. As many of you know, there’s nothing worse than watching your little one battle sickness while you sit by feeling helpless. Ugh…Henry seemed to escape the sick drama although he did gash his head on the bottom of the stereo cabinet while playing with Uncle Joe and bled all over the place Saturday night. He has a nice little scabby line on his head now. And then to round off the trip, the night before we came home, William woke up at 3:30 am with a horrible stomach ache. He rolled and writhed around on the floor for an hour before finally falling back asleep. 4 hours later he woke up and had a poop explosion in his diaper which resulted in a ruined set of pajamas and foul smell that permeated the house for a good long while. Good times I say…good times.
Other than those misadventures, it was a great visit. There was actually some snow on the ground and both boys had fun playing around in it. It was nice to relax and eat good food. The kids got some really good presents again this year. Looks like we’re going to have to clean out their big toy box since it is overflowing with toys. Not a bad thing though…I’m getting a spring cleaning bug. =)
Hope everyone out there had a great Christmas – our letters are coming out late this year, but they’re still coming. I’ll be doing the write up here shortly so stay tuned. Also, the yearly calendars showed up yesterday so for those of you who get them, they’ll be arriving with your letters. =)
Love you all!! Merry Christmas and Happy New Year.
