Will actually slept a whole 4 hours today! Yay! I lounged around a little bit and Tommy and Henry had a wrestling match. Just taking it all in!

Welcome Home Will!!
There is an old adage that goes “The best made plans are laid to waste…” That is exactly how Tommy and I felt after Will decided to show up 2 weeks early this past Monday. I’m not going to waste bandwidth giving you the gory details, but suffice it to say that everything that could have gone wrong with this delivery, did. In the last 5 minutes of my 14 hour labor, you would have thought they were filming the show “ER” in our delivery room. Nurses running everywhere, the doctor saying “This is your last try before we take you to the OR for a C-section” and my midwife looking me right in the eyes and saying “He’s right here!!PUSH!!!” Now that it’s over, we’ve looked back and decided we’re damn lucky to be taking home a beautiful, healthy baby boy, that despite being sent to the NICU came out with flying colors and impressed us all – and under all the circumstances, me being able to deliver him naturally. In the grand scheme of things, I still got to the end that I wanted – I just had to take a different route. This baby has shown us that no matter what life may throw at you, all you can do is roll with the punches – and realize that there is a silver lining to every situation.
So with that, allow me to introduce our second little son, William Lawrence Lind who came to us on Monday night, August 1st 2011. He weighed in at 5 pounds 10 ounces and was 17.5 inches long. Welcome home baby. 🙂
A Matt-tastic weekend!
Our buddy Matty wanted to make some custom curtains for his kitchen so I told him to come over and I’d teach him how to use my sewing machine. Well, as luck would have it, after he showed up and we started working, the freaking machine started being finicky and messing up all over the place. PLUS, because I’m pregnant my brain will NOT function properly so I screwed up some of the measurements and then had to try and pull some magic out of thin air to fix my mistakes. Woops. So what should have taken a day to do, ended up taking both days over the weekend so Matty basically lived at our house and hung out with Henry while I sat at the sewing machine cussing up a storm (Not Matty’s fault – I’m just a slight control freak) and Tom busted his ass trying to get a stump out of the yard. We got some good rain though so that was nice – and Henry of course had a great time chasing Matt all over the place.
Saturday Night Swimming and Grandpa’s 79th er….78th Birthday!!
Had a long overdue reunion with our crew last night and got some delicious food and swimming in. Henry had a ball and swam for most of the night…and of course threw a fit when we pulled him out. This kid is crazy about water. Today was a good day also – went down to Grandpa’s house to celebrate his 79th birthday. However, upon arrival he let the cat out of the bag and told us it was actually his *78th* birthday. No big deal, right? Well unfortunately, the cake couldn’t be changed. HAHA! He always keeps suprises up his sleeve for us. 🙂 LOVE YOU GRANDPA. HAPPY BIRTHDAY!!
Best Birthday Present EVER!!
Hey everyone! Well, there are some of you out there who’ve been kept in the dark so I guess we better let you in on our little secret …
Our second little boy is on the way and it looks like he’ll be arriving earlier than expected!! Our first due date was September 2nd but based on the baby’s sizing, they’ve changed it to August 18th. So on Thursday, I’ll be 20 weeks and 5 days. The doctor said the baby looks very healthy and that’s the best news of all – I’ll be honest, I was hoping it might be a girl (and I know you were too, B) but I guess God intended for me to have boys instead. 🙂 But then again, that doesn’t mean that we have to quit at 2 right? (Tommy is yelling in the background “We’re not having 3!!!” But we’ll see, won’t we?)
