Our crazy families

Happy New Year!

We didn’t do too much to ring in the new year (a kettlebell workout – yeah!) although we DID stay up long enough to welcome it this time. Counting down to race day – and getting our ducks in a row for our return to climbing afterwards. The new bouldering gym opens on the 24th and we’ve booked 2 trips to Hueco in March. I’m looking forward to getting back into climbing shape and testing out some projects we found there last year. It’s going to be a challenge, however, to haul around pads, gear and 2 kiddos, but I’m sure all the screaming and whining will enrich the experience. 🙂

Merry Christmas 2011

Well, we’re back from NM and we had a great time. Lots of good food and fun. It was nice to have a white Christmas and also enjoy some much colder weather. We also got some great stuff under the tree and LOTS of candy in our stockings. 🙂

On the drive home - Henry got a crown in one of his meals and decided to be a knight instead of a King

Christmas with Grandpa

Every year we do a little Christmas get-together with Grandpa before we leave for NM. This year we stuck to tradition and went and saw the lights in Winterhaven, then dropped by our favorite dessert cafe to get some sweets and then headed home to open presents. Every year Grandpa seems to outdo himself and this one was no exception! Henry loves his new present!!

The lights at Winterhaven are awesome - this year brought some new and creative designs and this one was pretty cool
This is for all you Grinches out there...be careful.

I asked him if he wanted to name it Trigger, Silver, Copper or Lightning? He insisted on "Horsey."
Hi Ho Horsey - Away! Thank you Grandpa!!

Getting ready for break time…

Things are starting to wind down around here and we’re excited to welcome the new year. We’ve been doing SOME kind of workout every day since I can remember and it’s starting to catch up to us. Rather than get easier they seem like they’ve gotten harder and harder!! Haha. Maybe it’s just pure exhaustion but hopefully it will pay off when race day comes. Tommy’s break starts on Thursday and he’ll have 2 solid weeks off, so that’ll be really nice. We’ll see how long we can go without starting some kind of project. 🙂
