Final Hueco trip of the year…

Went out to Hueco a couple weeks ago to settle some scores. We both sent our projects and then found a new one. =) We went with our good buddy Stu (who is an absolute riot and joy to hang out with) and had a wonderful time. The pictures are kind of grainy just bc we FORGOT our camera so Stu used his cell. Only 2 weeks until our annual Bishop, CA trip! We are really looking forward to it. Hope everyone is well! Love to all!

Working my problem - Mexican Chicken V6
This is one of the funnest ones in the park
The crux for me was the ending. I fell 3 times previously at the very last holds and so I was absolutely determined to get it this time...
And I did!!
Woo hoo!
Tommy working the roof of Chicken
Such good moves!

Stu started working it with us...the beginning is tricky
Lots of heels...
New project for both Tommy and I - Rudy V7
It's such a hard problem - lots of compression and really not my style
Stu and Tommy hangin' out - No Stu is not a sailor...he got that hat as a free gift from Moosejaw and was wearing it all over the place. It made everyone laugh. =)
Crossing the damn to get to Choir Boys Light
Look at how cool this rock is!! Workin on Choir Boys Light V7 - I couldn't even get off the ground. Ha!
Tommy made it the farthest out of all of us...
Second day on - He didn't get it the first day...but owned it on this one!! Woooo!

This pic gives you some perspective of how big these rocks are...
Getting over the lip
Second day for Stu
Second day working Rudy
I got farther this time
Soooo hard...

Happy Halloween!!

Took the boys out trick or treating last night – It was fun…although there were some meltdowns and kind of put a damper on the night. Sigh…kids. They got a lot of candy and had a good time though and Henry is walking around this morning carrying around his bucket and “wollypops.” =) In a few days all that candy will “mysteriously” disappear so I don’t have to worry about their dentist appointments coming up. =) Hope everyone else had a good time – until next year!!

This was on Wednesday - they got their candy baskets from Auntie along with the hats they're wearing - those are going to be perfect for Bishop this year!!
Munching down on their goodies...
The most adorable Grandpa EVER!! William insisted he wear my witch hat...
So cute...
William was Pigpen this year - we tried to make him as dirty as possible! Here he is running over to the neighbors house for candy.
Our good friend and neighbor, Missy - she totally spoiled them
Look at those buckets!
William was Pigpen - the dirt cloud around him was a little impossible =)
Trick or treating at Uncle Mike's house
A totally annoying noise maker...we had to listen to it all night
Look mom! I'm going to drive you insane!!
Will got one too...ugh
Henry's wondering why it won't shut up
William didn't like the selection of candy
So he dumped it all out to see what he could find...little turd
I want this one...
Getting ready to go trick or treating with Gisele the cupcake
Pigpen and Charlie Brown - My adorable little stinkers =)

Our second big project – Front Patio

A couple months ago we decided to re-do the front area walkway by taking away the lame-o wannabe flagstone and laying down brick. The brick we got was so freaking cool – we found it at a used supply store downtown and the story was that it was used in a 100 year old building that had recently been torn down. The bricks aren’t uniform and are really big and fat so I wasn’t sure it was gonna turn out ok… but it looks absolutely awesome!!! I love it!!! ***We finished this project on Oct 11th*** (I am way behind…=)

Seeing what the first few will look like...
Like it so far...
Prepping the rest of the area...
Coming along...
We wanted to do herringbone but the bricks weren't uniform enough for it...
Making good progress...
Tommy working hard...
Almost there!!
Now for the hard cuts...
All finished!!
So awesome!
I love it!

Vermont Trip with a side of Zombie Race and Horror show!

Hey all, I made it back I one piece!! I had a wonderful time visiting Holly, Scott, their two evil dogs, and a couple of my climbing buddies. We survived the zombie race and while it was fun, it’s probably not something I’ll do again. We got accosted by the zombies – I was tackled, Emma was fondled and Crystal was thrown up against a wall. I was seriously ready to wrestle with a couple because they were so aggressive. We were able to make it through and “survive” though and got a medal for our efforts.  It was cool hanging out with Holly’s girlfriends and we actually made another friend running through the race so all in all it was worth it. The weather was gorgeous my entire visit although I seriously froze my ass off the whole time. Yes, I am a wuss, but it’s difficult to get used to a humid 70’s climate coming from a desert where it’s 103 degrees. It was great for hikes, runs and climbing though and we did a lot of that. Surprisingly enough, my flights went off without a hitch although I did have a 15 hour travel day coming back that almost did me in. I missed my gremlins like CRAZY and have been smothering them with hugs and kisses since I picked them up on Tuesday. It’s nice to be back home and get back into my routine but my trip was a sad reminder of how far away all my loved ones are. Maybe one day we’ll be closer…but for now, a yearly trip will have to suffice. Love you B – thanks for putting up with me…and sorry again about your towels. =0 Haha. ***This was originally supposed to go up around 10/8***

The Zombie Bites - They're finger lickin' good! That was our team name and motto.
Checking in
Putting on our numbers and flags
Our crew
Making our way to the start
Hanging out in the sun - it was hot
Warming up
Pretty short...
Group picture before the start
Ok, enough pics already...
At the start getting ready to run through a big barn
This zombie is having a really rough day. Haha
This is probably half way through - just made it over a hay bail...and I'm freakin' tired man!
Another bigger one...
Near the end - Time to slide!
Uhhhh....not so much.
B's turn
Ow, that slide gave me a serious wedgie.
We recruited a new teammate, Case, the guy on the far side. We picked him up after we lost all our flags. He still had two and so we vowed to protect him for the rest of the race. We ended up earning back 4 for our team so we were happy.
Bleachers. Ugh.
Right before the end
Team meeting before our final charge to figure out our strategy
Blitzkrieg!!! OMG this picture makes me laugh so freaking hard. Hahahahaha.
We did it!!! We survived!!!
Now we have to crawl through a pool of cow mud. Gross
Here we go...
Truly, there was no need for this...they just wanted us to get dirty
Filthy!
I got mud in my eye here...
The new team
Getting our medals
Shall we take another picture?
Oh yes! I'm blind in one eye
Trying to wash the filth away
Not having too much luck
The taste of victory!
Under the mascot
We had a lot of fun

Art of Horror Show – Holly submitted 5 of her photos to a gallery down in Burlington for the “Art of Horror” show and 3 of them were accepted. We attended the event the Saturday before I left and it was…fun. My brother in law is a major pain in the ass though and made my life miserable on the trip down. It was already freezing cold outside but he insisted on turning the AC on full blast mode. I almost died. Thanks, Scott. Jerky.

Holly by her pictures that got accepted. They were awesome.
Freezing my ass off - again - My look was supposed to be halloweeny, but i look more like a goth pirate here. Hmmm.
Scott is NOT amused
Creepy doll heads...
And a grouchy old man...
The team reunites! Minus Emma. And Case.

The rest of these pictures are of the beautiful scenery in Morrisville and Stowe. I can’t tell you how nice it was to run on a gorgeous trail covered in red, yellow and orange leaves. Such beautiful surroundings really change the way you think about doing ridiculous, uncomfortable, and horrible things like running.( Yes, Maria, I’m thinking of you, crazy girl) (And no I’m not talking to myself, there is another crazy Maria. Hahaha)

Gorgeous tree in Holly's backyard
One of the roads we drove down. Stunningly beautiful.

One of the trails we ran on...
Another view...
Beautiful trails as far as the eye could see...

Uh...gorgeous!!!

Amazing colors
Road back to the car after a hike we finished
Moss Glen Falls
He he
This was called root rock - I was going to do some climbs on it the weekend before I left but wasn't able to. Next time.
How cool is that?
More trails...
Stunning...

Kindergarten photos!!

Henry brought home his kinder pictures today and we were comparing his class photo to Tommy’s when he was that age. It was so cool to see!! I don’t have a class picture for kindergarten but there is a picture of me somewhere around here when I was 5 or 6. I’ll find it and have Tommy scan it – until then, enjoy these adorable little kiddos!

Tommy's kindergarten class picture - 1985 - 2nd row, 3rd from the right
Henry's class photo - 2013 - He's so tiny!!!
